Community Guidelines

Built for the trades

Gritlink is where tradespeople show their work, find jobs and help each other, and where customers find pros they can trust. These guidelines keep it useful and safe. They apply to profiles, posts, stories, comments, messages, groups, reviews, quotes and everything else on Gritlink.

Be real

Use your real name or your real business name. One person or business per account. Show your own work; if you share someone else’s, give them credit. Do not pretend to be another person, company or Gritlink.

Be honest about credentials

Only add licenses, insurance, bonds, certifications and background checks that are yours, current and real. Never edit a document or upload someone else’s. Faking proof gets your account removed and may be reported to the authorities.

Respect people

Disagree about methods and materials all you want, but no harassment, threats, bullying, hate speech, or attacks based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age or veteran status. No sexual content, and nothing violent or graphic. Keep job site safety photos respectful of the people in them.

Protect privacy

Do not post other people’s phone numbers, addresses, documents or private messages without permission. Ask customers before posting photos of their home or property, and leave out house numbers and anything that identifies them.

Keep reviews fair

Review only work you actually hired someone for, and describe what really happened. No fake reviews, review trading, or paying or pressuring anyone for a review. Pros: answer reviews professionally. If a review breaks these rules, dispute it instead of arguing.

Do business straight

Quote honestly, show up when you say you will, and put agreements in writing. No scams, bait-and-switch pricing, fake job posts, upfront payment schemes, or asking for gift cards or wire transfers. Use leads only for the job the customer described. No spam, chain messages, or mass unsolicited messages.

Stay legal and safe

Do not offer or ask for work without the licenses or permits it requires, and do not promote illegal goods, unsafe practices, or anything that could get someone hurt. If someone is in danger, call 911 first.

Report problems

Use Report on any profile, post, message or review that breaks these guidelines. Reports go to the Gritlink admin and are kept private; the member is not told who reported them. You can also block a member from the ··· menu on their profile: they can no longer message you, and their posts and comments are hidden from you.

What happens when rules are broken

Depending on how serious it is, we may remove content, hide a review, remove badges, limit features, or suspend or close the account. Faking credentials, scams, threats and anything that puts people in danger can lead to removal on the first time. If you think we made a mistake, email diamantereylara@gmail.com.
